Job Description

Job Description
Step into a day-on-the-floor in Harmarville

As a Hydraulic Shear Operator in our steel fabrication and processing facility, you’ll keep product moving and quality tight. From the moment your shift starts, you’ll set up and run a hydraulic steel shear, stage material with a crane or magnet, and keep production flowing with a forklift. No prior shear or steel experience? We’ll train you from day one. This is a direct hire position with clear pay progression and room to grow.

Where your time goes
  • Set up and operate a hydraulic steel shear to cut steel sheets and strips precisely
  • Move material by hand and with overhead crane, magnetic lift, and forklift
  • Inspect finished pieces using precision measuring tools; verify specs and quality
  • Package finished goods with air-powered banding tools for safe shipment
  • Record production, print tags, and follow work orders using basic computer and calculator skills
  • Partner with your team; work independently when needed to hit goals
Schedule and pay
  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday 4:00 AM–2:30 PM (30-minute lunch); Friday 4:00 AM–12:00 PM, paid at time and a half, no lunch $18.50/hour
  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday 2:30 PM–1:00 AM (30-minute lunch); Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, paid at time and a half, no lunch $19.50/hour
  • On 2nd shift, when you work the Friday 8 AM shift, your Thursday shift ends early at 11:00 PM instead of 1:00 AM
  • Some Fridays off entirely on either shift
  • No Saturday or Sunday work
  • Overtime opportunity available a real way to increase your take-home now, on top of base pay
  • $0.50/hour increase after a 60–90 day probation period, plus annual raises and bonuses (with potential for more frequent bonuses down the line)

Both shifts follow a steady rhythm Monday through Thursday with a shorter, different Friday. It takes a minute to get used to, but once you’re in the groove it’s a predictable routine four days (or nights) a week.

What makes you a fit
  • Reliable, consistent attendance and a desire for long-term stability
  • Comfort with physical, hands-on work in a fast-paced production setting
  • No experience necessary attitude and willingness to learn matter most; prior warehouse or manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Solid basic math, reading, and measuring skills
  • Self-directed when needed; collaborative and willing to pitch in
Benefits that start upon hire
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • PTO accrual
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 401(k) matching
