Flooring Installer Multi-Trade Technician

Work Horse General Contractors, an established construction company based in Pasadena, TX, is seeking an experienced Flooring Installer / Multi-Trade Technician to join our team.

We are looking for a well-rounded construction professional with hands-on flooring experience who is also willing to assist with other construction, repair, and maintenance work as needed.

The primary focus of this position is commercial flooring installation and repair, including VCT, LVT, laminate, and carpet tile. This is not strictly a flooring-only position. The ideal candidate is versatile, comfortable using tools, and willing to assist our other trades and construction crews when flooring work is not required.

Applicants must be willing and able to travel as needed based on project location. Company-required travel expenses, including lodging, are covered by Work Horse General Contractors.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair VCT flooring
• Install LVT and laminate flooring
• Install and replace commercial carpet tile
• Measure and lay out flooring materials
• Make accurate cuts around walls, doors, fixtures, and other obstacles
• Remove existing flooring and prepare areas for new installation
• Perform basic floor preparation and minor repairs before installation
• Apply flooring adhesives and properly set flooring materials
• Install transitions, trim, and other flooring accessories
• Replace damaged flooring and complete flooring repairs
• Assist with general construction, maintenance, and punch-list work when needed
• Assist painting, drywall, carpentry, and other trades as needed
• Safely use common hand and power tools
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
• Work independently on basic projects and alongside other trades on larger projects

Qualifications

• Previous professional flooring installation experience preferred
• Experience with VCT, LVT, laminate, and/or carpet tile preferred
• Experience with commercial flooring installation and repair is a plus
• Ability to measure, lay out, cut, and install flooring properly
• Basic knowledge of floor preparation and adhesives
• General construction, handyman, or multi-trade experience is a plus
• Comfortable assisting with work outside of flooring when needed
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be willing and able to travel for out-of-town projects
• Flexibility to work varying schedules based on project requirements
• Reliable and dependable

Pay & Travel

$20–$25 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skill level.

Company-required travel expenses and lodging are covered for out-of-town projects.
