Rusty Rail Brewing Company is seeking a friendly, energetic, and guest-focused Host to join our team. As the first and last impression of our restaurant, the Host plays a vital role in creating an exceptional dining experience. The ideal candidate is welcoming, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while providing outstanding customer service.
Job Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and provide a positive first impression of Rusty Rail Brewing Company.
- Manage guest seating while maintaining an efficient flow of service throughout the restaurant.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist guests with questions regarding reservations, wait times, hours of operation, and general inquiries.
- Take, confirm, and manage reservations accurately.
- Maintain and update waitlists while communicating estimated wait times to guests.
- Coordinate seating accommodations and communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff.
- Ensure the host stand, entrance, and lobby areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Assist in delivering an exceptional guest experience by addressing concerns professionally and escalating issues when needed.
- Support restaurant operations and team members as needed to ensure smooth daily service.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, professional, and welcoming demeanor.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service or restaurant experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Availability Requirements
- Weekday evening availability is required.
- Weekend availability is preferred.
- Ability to work holidays and special events as business needs require.
- Additional hours and shifts may become available based on seasonal demand and business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
- Ability to frequently move throughout the restaurant to seat guests and communicate with team members.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions as needed.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes crowded restaurant environment.
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and customer service standards throughout the shift.
