Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer - MUST be a citizen to be eligble

Job Description

This role is an experienced Electronics Engineer to lead the design, development, verification, and commercialization of complex electrical systems and electronic medical devices. This role provides technical leadership across product development programs, drives innovative solutions, and ensures that all designs meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. The engineer collaborates closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations teams to guide products from initial concept through successful commercialization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of electrical systems, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and electronic subsystems for medical devices.
  • Develop and evaluate system-level electrical designs, including power distribution, grounding, isolation, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC performance.
  • Perform technical trade-off analyses to balance performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions for complex electrical and system-level issues.
  • Plan and oversee design verification activities, including functional, environmental, EMC, and safety testing.
  • Review and approve electrical engineering deliverables, such as schematics, PCB layouts, test protocols, and technical documentation.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams to elevate overall technical capability.
  • Identify and assess emerging technologies, components, and design approaches that enhance product performance and innovation.
  • Support product transfer to manufacturing and ensure that designs meet applicable medical device standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and methodologies related to electrical and electronic systems.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in product development.
  • Proven experience designing complex electronic systems, including PCB development, power electronics, analog and digital circuits, and embedded hardware.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry with design controls and formal product verification processes.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, IEC standards, EMC requirements, and relevant medical device regulations.
  • Proficiency with Altium for PCB design and electronic hardware development.
  • Strong experience in electrical design and electrical engineering, including system-level analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lead technical projects, make informed trade-off decisions, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering is a PLUS.
  • 7+ years of product design experience, preferably in electronics or electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with motor control and power electronics is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on hardware design experience, including EMC considerations and PCBAs.
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Eagle, with the ability to support a transition from Eagle to Altium.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide other engineers in best practices for electrical and electronic design.

Work Environment

The role is based in a product development environment focused on electronic medical devices, where the engineer works closely with cross-functional teams in R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations. The position involves extensive use of electronic design tools, particularly Altium, as the organization transitions from Eagle to Altium for PCB design. Work includes time in both office and lab settings, performing design, analysis, and verification testing on electrical systems and PCB assemblies. The environment emphasizes adherence to medical device standards, design controls, and rigorous verification and validation activities, with a strong culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
