Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

Lead the design, programming, and implementation of industrial automation systems from concept through commissioning. This role is responsible for PLC/HMI development, control system design, troubleshooting, and startup support while serving as a technical resource for complex automation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage controls projects from initial concept through final completion, ensuring all technical and functional requirements are met.
  • Design and implement control systems for automated equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop PLC and HMI programs using Rockwell/Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
  • Create electrical schematics, control architectures, and system documentation.
  • Lead automation projects from design through startup and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and industrial control systems.
  • Integrate robotics, motion control, drives, sensors, and related automation technologies.
  • Perform system testing, validation, and optimization to ensure reliable operation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and production stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and reliability.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in controls, automation, or electrical engineering.
  • Strong PLC programming experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
  • Experience with HMI development, system integration, and industrial networking.

Work Environment

This is primarily an onsite role with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week and no travel requirements!

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of DeForest, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
