The Ford Agency is partnering with an international law firm in their search for an experienced professional Client Contracts Advisor to join their busy team. The Advisor will play an integral role by verifying the consistency of all contracts, ensuring that they reflect the firm's interests and that they mitigate risk. This role will collaborate with the Manager and attorneys to manage the review process and assist with implementing non-standard terms in agreements/engagements. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a JD and at least 2 years of experience reviewing contracts and agreements in a law firm to take the next step in their career.
Responsibilities Include:
- Stay up to date on the firm's business policies and practices and ensure the firm is maintaining its ethics and meeting insurance requirements relating to agreements
- Review, research, and respond to outside counsel guidelines, identifying potential concerns and reasons for objections
- Discuss potential issues, and proposed approaches with senior attorneys to find effective solutions
- Manage database of outside counsel guidelines
- Conduct thorough research using firm databases, internal subject matter experts, and other resources
- Review current processes and make recommendations to improve upon best practices
Qualifications Include:
- JD preferred
- 2+ years of law firm experience required
- Knowledge and detailed understanding of engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines
- Ability to review and analyze large volumes of information into effective solutions
- Ability to summarize business and legal concepts clearly and concisely in writing
- Professional communication skills
Compensation:
- $78,000 - 143,000 annually
Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
