Position: Staff Caregiver
Employment type: Salaried, Full-time
Schedule Expectations: Available from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
Position Overview
The Staff Caregiver provides high-quality care and support to clients while serving as a reliable resource for coverage during daytime hours. This role plays a key part in maintaining client satisfaction, supporting field operations, and ensuring a smooth transition when new services begin. Staff Caregivers are expected to work independently, handle complex client care situations, and assist with training other caregivers when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Remain available daily from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm to cover open or emergency shifts as assigned
Work a minimum of 20-25 hours per week caregiving
Take the lead on first-time shifts with new clients, ensuring smooth services and documenting any care needs or concerns
Provide care for more complex or challenging clients as assigned by the office
Deliver high quality, compassionate, and consistent care in alignment with SYNERGY HomeCare of Central IL standards
Provide one-on-one or in-field training to caregivers as needed for specific clients or care plans
Assist caregivers who may need additional support to meet client needs safely and effectively
If not dispatched to a client shift by 9:00 am, report to the office
Assist with basic office tasks, which may include
Answering incoming calls
Making copies or preparing caregiver/client materials
Supporting scheduling or administrative tasks
Assisting with other duties as assigned by the office team
Qualifications
Previous caregiving experience required; CNA or comparable experience preferred
Ability to handle challenging client situations with professionalism and patience
Strong communication skills and ability to train others effectively
Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing daily assignments
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to client homes as needed
Ability to safely assist clients with mobility, transfers, and Activities of Daily Living (ADLS)
Ability to lift up to 25lbs and stand, walk or bend for extended periods of tim
