System Engineer

RSi is looking to fill a System Engineerposition for the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System on the DIAMNDSS IIIcontract. The DIAMNDSS contract (Decision Support Division (DSD) Integrated Air, Missile and Network Defense, and Space Support) provides system utility analysis and combat development in support of the Warfighter.

This position is responsible for technical, engineering, and programmatic support for the APKWS, coordinating across military branches, industry partners, and munitions facilities. They will manage the development, qualification, production, and testing activities for the APKWS.

Summary of duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide Prox Fuze support to include qualification of Navy Dual Safe.
• Coordinate with L3 on Single Safe Prox Fuse engineering and supply issues.
• Support U.S. Navy and Air Force interactions
• Support US Navy APKWS Configuration Control Boards
• Coordinate with Tri-Service and AvMC S&T on APKWS future developments, including applicability to US Army
• Coordinate with safety community for required documentation to support shipping/storage and materiel release for new APKWS variants
• Support TAGM Rapid Capability Product Office and ACE/SHIELD Program Management Office for APKWS-based systems including EAGLS/VAMPIRE/CWS-A
• Coordinate Army APKWS load, assembly, and pack with Letterkenny Munitions Center for all variants
• Support weapon system Stockpile Reliability Testing
• Monitor XM650 container qualifications

Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• 5 years System Engineering experience

Work Environment:

• The work of this position is primarily performed in an environmentally controlled office environment with periodic visits to other facilities, labs, or test ranges

Physical Environment/Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time including computer work
• Ability to stand or walk between locations
• Ability to stand for periods of time with possible climbing of stairs or ladders

Other: Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust background investigation for government issues credentials and IT access/applicants must be able to pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
