About the Position

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Kindergarten Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The Kindergarten Assistant will work closely with the lead teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where young children can learn, grow, and develop.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to make a meaningful difference in their early educational experience. A teaching certificate is not required for this position. Education or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions.
  • Provide positive guidance and encouragement to children.
  • Assist with preparing classroom materials, activities, and learning centers.
  • Support individual children’s needs while encouraging independence and confidence.
  • Communicate professionally and positively with families and staff.
  • Follow all center policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other classroom staff to provide consistent, high-quality care and education.
Qualifications

Required:


  • A genuine interest in working with young children.
  • Patience, dependability, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and meet applicable childcare licensing requirements.
Preferred:


  • Coursework, training, or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with young children in a classroom, childcare, camp, or similar setting.
  • Experience supporting children’s learning and development.
A teaching certificate is not required for this position.
