US Synthetic - Bearings Process Engineer

US Synthetic has an immediate need for a Bearings Process Engineer located in Orem, UT. The Bearings Process Engineer will work with the Bearings engineering group to develop and improve manufacturing processes associated with Bearing production.Utilize data-driven methods of PDCA and Six Sigma (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) to problem-solve, Poka-Yoke and innovate. Work with and be a resource to production areas and manage reactive needs of production to allow temporary countermeasures and long-term changes. Responsible to produce on-target quality work per the Quality Policy
of US Synthetic.

What You Will Do:

• Utilize problem solving methodsat“Gemba”(at theworksite)such as PDCA, DMAIC, FMEA, Design of Experiments (DOE), VerticalValueStreams (VVS)and ValueStreamMaps (VSM)to drive continuous improvement and produce results

• Runcross-functionaland new product development teamsat Gembato a specificobjectiveusingcontinuous improvementtools to organize and drive theobjectiveof the team

• Work with the operators and leaders on the production floor to develop and implement poka-yokes to improve assigned process

• Effectivelyutilizeand manage a student engineer to addressreactive needs of the floor andtoallow temporary countermeasures and long-term changes

• Utilizelean manufacturing principles in all processes andproduct changes

• Create,maintainand perform audits onstandardized workdocumentsi.e.Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS) andCritical Knowledge

• Yokoten: shareand teachlessons learned with production floor

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GEDisrequired

• Immigration sponsorship not available for this role

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering field

Physical Demands:

• Moderate noise

• Use of Safety Equipment (Safety Glasses)

• Knowledge on machine shop practices,methodsand procedures

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Working toward a Six Sigma Black Belt

• Pass respirator fit test

• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing,applicationand implementation
