FULL CHARGE BOOKKEEPER
JOB SUMMARY
Our client, a well-established real estate, property management, and investment company, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Full Charge Bookkeeperwith cost accounting experience to manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for the company. The job will be onsite in their Atlanta office (Off 1-75, near Northside Drive) Monday–Friday, 8:30 am –4:30 pm. This position will maintain accurate financial records, process accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank and brokerage accounts, prepare routine financial reports, and assist the Controller with accounting and administrative needs.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Experience with real estate, property management, investment accounts, or multiple business entities is a plus.
CORE PROCESSES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and general accounting functions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial files.
- Post general journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Record and categorize income, expenses, deposits, and other financial transactions.
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting documentation and files.
- Assist the Controller with accounting projects and other duties as needed.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and issue company checks and process payments.
- Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding prior to payment.
- Enter and maintain accounts payable records.
- Prepare and send invoices as needed.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances when appropriate.
- Record customer, tenant, property, and other incoming payments.
- Make bank deposits and accurately record deposits in the accounting system.
Bank, Brokerage & Account Reconciliations
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and brokerage/investment account statements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between accounting records and financial statements.
- Maintain current cash logs and monitor cash activity.
- Track transfers between bank, investment, and other company accounts.
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded and supporting documentation is maintained.
Financial Reporting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
- Produce financial and investment reports as requested.
- Provide accurate financial information and reports to the Controller and management.
- Assist with year-end accounting activities and preparation for tax reporting.
- Prepare and/or assist with annual 1099 reporting.
- Maintain schedules and supporting documentation for financial reporting.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- 2–4 years of college, junior college, or equivalent accounting/bookkeeping education preferred.
- 2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience required.
- Hands-on experience with cost accounting and expense tracking required.
- Experience working with real estate, property, investment, or project-based cost accounting is preferred.
