Job Description
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support a Contract engagement based in Norcross, Georgia. This role will focus on strengthening accounting operations through year-end audit resolution, policy development, and improvements to long-term project accounting practices. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise and can step into a hands-on environment that requires organization, analysis, and process refinement.
Responsibilities:
• Lead efforts to address outstanding year-end audit matters and coordinate timely follow-up on open accounting items.
• Review and enhance long-term project accounting methods to improve consistency, accuracy, and policy alignment.
• Draft, revise, and formalize accounting policies and procedures to support compliant financial reporting.
• Evaluate revenue recognition practices and update related accounting guidance where needed.
• Perform detailed account cleanup activities to resolve discrepancies and improve ledger integrity.
• Manage month-end close tasks, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Oversee general ledger activity and ensure account reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify accounting gaps, recommend corrective actions, and support implementation of improved controls.• Proven experience in an Accounting Manager or senior-level accounting role.
• Strong background in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entry review.
• Hands-on experience supporting financial statement audits and resolving audit-related issues.
• Solid expertise in account reconciliation and identifying variances or cleanup needs.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and accounting policy documentation.
• Ability to assess existing processes and develop practical improvements for project-based accounting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in a fast-paced contract environment.
