Adjunct Professor History

About the Role:

The Adjunct Professor of History plays a critical role in delivering high-quality education to undergraduate and/or graduate students by teaching courses that cover various historical periods, themes, and methodologies. This position involves designing and implementing engaging curricula that foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of historical contexts. The professor will contribute to the academic community by mentoring students, facilitating discussions, and encouraging scholarly inquiry. Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in History or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more historical periods or themes relevant to the courses offered.
• Experience in teaching at the college or university level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse student populations.
• Ability to develop course materials and assessments that meet academic standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in History or related discipline.
• Experience with online or hybrid teaching modalities.
• Record of scholarly research or publications in the field of history.
• Familiarity with digital tools and resources for history education.
• Experience mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver lectures and course materials for assigned history classes in a clear and engaging manner.
• Develop syllabi, assignments, and assessments that align with course objectives and academic standards.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work to support their academic growth.
• Hold regular office hours to advise and mentor students on academic and career-related matters.
