Key Responsibilities
- Operate the telehandler safely to lift, move, and place materials at specified locations and heights
- Inspect machinery daily to ensure proper functioning and safety before use
- Select and attach appropriate attachments (forks, buckets, baskets, or winches) for different tasks
- Maintain stability and security of loads during movement
- Navigate work sites safely, coordinating with team members to avoid accidents
- Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and reporting malfunctions
- Follow site health, safety, and security protocols at all times
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy machinery, preferably in construction or industrial settings
- Knowledge of site operations and safety procedures is advantageous
- Certifications such as a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) card or Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card are often required a plus
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record may be necessary
