Overview
The Traveling Material Handlersupports inventory management operations within a fast-paced supply chain and quality environment. This role monitors inventory workflow, evaluates team performance, supports compliance to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards, and ensures proper control ofnon-conforming, rejected, and scrap materials.
The traveling material handler plays a critical role in flex-up operations, material control, layered process auditing (LPA), and customer-specific requirement compliance, contributing directly to total customer satisfaction and continuous improvement initiatives.
The position is partially indoor/partially outdoor and would require traveling inside Michigan. Mileage is compensated 55 Cents per mile.
Cities/Sites this position would support include but are not limited to West Michigan.
Key Responsibilities
- · Execute daily workflow operation and ensure adherence to customer-specific requirements and quality standards
- · Support execution ofQuality Planning, Inventory Audits, Pick and Pack operations and material movement
- · Ensure proper segregation, documentation, and control ofnon-conforming and scrap materials
- · Coordinate with logistics to maintain accurate material flow and inventory control
- · Performscrap analysis and reporting
- . Safely operate tele-handler to load/unload flatbeds and dry vans in concordance will all safety regulations.
- · Assist withLayered Process Audits (LPA)
- · Maintain accurate inspection/inventory records in compliance with QMS requirements
- · Contribute to corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives
- · Support document control and data integrity procedures
- · Participate in internal inventory audits and continuous improvement activities
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3years of experiencein amanufacturing or plant environment.
- Solid grasp of inventory audit principles andorganized warehousing
- Excellentcustomer-facing communicationand interpersonal skills.
- Strongorganizational, analytical, and mathematicalabilities.
- Proficient inMicrosoft Officeand quality data reporting.
- Comfortable working in aLay-down yard (indoor office space/storage areas, outdoor loading/unloading)settingwith adherence to safety and quality standards.
Education
- Some Technical training inmanufacturingorquality systems preferred.
- QMS, ISO, or AS9102 certification a plus.
- Tele-handler certification experience is a plus.
