Automation Manufacturing Engineer - Onsite Role

Automation Engineer designs, programs, and maintains automated equipment and control systems to optimize production efficiency, safety, and product quality on the production floor. Willingness to work in a low automation environment

Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Integration: Develop specifications for automated manufacturing cells, robotics, and material handling systems.
• Programming & Controls: Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Testing & Validation: Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning of new machinery.
• Continuous Improvement: Analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data and perform root cause analysis to reduce downtime.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with maintenance, quality, and operations teams to resolve technical faults and implement corrective actions.
• implementing and working with cobots and end effectors.
• Ability to read wire diagrams.
• Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with PLC ladder logic, industrial networks, sensors, and robotics (such as FANUC or Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms).
• Methodologies: Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or GMP/FDA regulatory standards depending on the industry.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional communication abilities.

This position is in a manufacturing production plant environment where the temperature may vary hot or cold. The typical noise level is loud. Exposure to vibration, fumes or airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts.
