Location:Houston, TX
Work Arrangement:Onsite
Shift hours: 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. - or 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m / Monday–Friday; Saturdays may be required as needed
Pay Rate: $16/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking reliable and detail-orientedMeat Packersto support the preparation, packaging, labeling, and processing of meat products in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. The selected candidates will prepare products for production lines or the next stage of processing while following food safety, quality, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.

This position requires the ability to work continuously in refrigerated environments and occasionally in freezer areas while wearing company-provided protective apparel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare, pack, and repack meat products according to production schedules and customer specifications.
  • Feed meat products to production lines and prepare them for the next stage of processing.
  • Measure, weigh, count, sort, and move products, materials, containers, and orders.
  • Place or pour products and materials into containers using hand tools and equipment.
  • Assemble, line, pad, seal, and secure cartons, crates, and other containers.
  • Mark and label containers, products, and container tags accurately.
  • Inspect meat products, packaging, containers, and materials to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Remove completed, damaged, or defective products and materials from the work area.
  • Record product, packaging, and order information on required forms and documentation.
  • Clean containers, equipment, supplies, materials, and assigned work areas using approved cleaning solutions and hand tools.
  • Follow all company food safety, sanitation, GMP, PPE, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and assist other areas when workload demands increase.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months of warehouse, manufacturing, food production, packaging, or general labor experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to consistently follow food safety, GMP, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

  • Meat or food product packaging.
  • Food manufacturing or production.
  • Product marination.
  • Further meat processing.
  • Facility sanitation.
  • Warehouse operations.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Onsite position in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Fast-paced, refrigerated production environment.
  • Refrigerated working temperatures typically range from35°ree;F to 45°ree;F.
  • Periodic work in freezer environments ranging from approximately-10°ree;F to +10°ree;FFrequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, sorting, packing, and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must follow all required PPE, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
  • Travel is not required.
  • Overtime is not regularly offered; Saturday work may be required based on production needs.
