Axion Corporation is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our manufacturing team in Huntsville. We're looking for a hands-on machinist who can do more than run a machine someone comfortable programming, setting up, troubleshooting, and running CNC equipment, and taking a part from print to finished product. Experience with Haas machines and controls is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

  • Program, set up, and operate our Haas machining centers UMC-750 (5-axis) and VF-series (any model), 3- and 5-axis
  • Write and edit programs from engineering drawings and 3D models; program and/or operate Fanuc controls
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications (including GD&T)
  • Determine appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining processes
  • Perform setups, prove-outs, and troubleshoot machining issues
  • Inspect finished parts with precision measuring equipment; verify dimensional and quality requirements
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
  • Work with production and quality to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules
  • Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area

What We're Looking For

  • Previous CNC machining experience with CNC programming
  • Haas experience strongly preferred; comfortable in 3- and 5-axis
  • Fanuc programming and/or operation
  • Read and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD hold tight tolerances
  • Knowledge of tooling, setups, speeds, feeds, and machining processes
  • Skilled with precision measuring and inspection equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of your work
  • Precision, aerospace, or defense manufacturing experience a plus
  • Must meet U.S. Person requirements for ITAR-controlled work
