Our client, a leading full-service Des Moines law firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-6 years of civil and/or commercial litigation experience to join its growing litigation practice.

Responsibilities
- Manage and support a variety of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances
- Maintain direct communication with clients and opposing counsel
- Assist with trial preparation and trial-related activities
- Handle insurance defense and eviction-related matters while gaining exposure to broader commercial and civil litigation cases
- Collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys on complex legal disputes
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school + licensed to practice law in Iowa and in good standing
- 2-6 years of civil litigation, commercial litigation, insurance defense, or other transferable litigation experience
- Strong academic credentials
- Proven legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery materials
- Courtroom, deposition, hearing, or trial experience is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Desire to continue developing as a litigator and build a long-term career with the firm
