We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support a manufacturing organization in St Paul, Minnesota through a Long-term Contract opportunity. This role will oversee core accounting operations, deliver accurate financial reporting, and provide insight that helps leaders make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to balance day-to-day execution with process improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Direct monthly and annual closing activities to ensure financial results are completed accurately and within established deadlines.

• Prepare and evaluate journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and related schedules that support reliable reporting.

• Oversee general ledger activity and maintain well-organized financial records with a high degree of accuracy.

• Review financial performance, identify notable trends or variances, and share practical recommendations with leadership.

• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and recurring management reports by providing timely accounting support and analysis.

• Strengthen accounting workflows and internal controls by identifying efficiency opportunities and recommending process enhancements.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to address accounting questions, resolve discrepancies, and support business priorities.

• Help coordinate audit readiness by assembling documentation and responding to requests from internal and external auditors.

• Provide direction and day-to-day support to less experienced team members while contributing to special projects as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior work in a senior-level accounting capacity.
• Strong command of month-end close, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliation practices.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing accurate journal entries.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort working in a structured organizational environment.
• Well-developed analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and across teams.
• Prior experience coaching, training, or informally leading entry-level staff is preferred.
