Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care on a tele-step-down high-acuity unit, focusing on post-ICU care, continuous drips, and stable ventilation management; vasopressors not anticipated.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and infusions per protocol, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Perform accurate, timely documentation using Cerner electronic charting; ensure complete bedside charts and handoffs.
- Float to Tele/Tele MS/MS units as needed, collaborating with unit leadership to maintain safe patient-to-staff ratios.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (nurses, PCTs, physicians, and ancillary staff) to support care planning, discharge readiness, and patient safety.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with independence, adhering to unit policies and evidence-based practices.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia (or ability to obtain licensure for Georgia)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in PCU/IMCU or high-acuity telemetry/step-down units
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Ability to float to Tele/Tele MS/MS units as needed
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN degree)
