Job Description

Join our team as a Packer, where you will play a key role in our production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Use computer systems and handle related documentation.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Fill liquids and powders into tanks.
  • Use scales to measure liquids accurately according to formulas.
  • Weigh out raw materials accurately and according to formulas.
  • Operate a forklift to move products around the production floor.
  • Demonstrate computer knowledge and handle written compounder materials.
  • Select appropriate tanks based on manufacturing requirements and batch size.
  • Pick required raw materials from the warehouse according to formulas.
  • Scan raw materials with a barcode scanner to ensure lot number and quantity accuracy.
  • Stage raw materials and add them to tanks according to work order instructions, possibly using a forklift.
  • Fill and pack orders according to sales orders, ensuring accurate weight and using specified sifter screens and labels.
  • Follow GMP and safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Be open to cross-training and helping in different departments as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in warehouse operations, loading, and packing.
  • Ability to work around chemicals and food-grade materials while adhering to GMP standards.
  • Proficiency in using scales, pumps, valves, and air mixers.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Attention to detail, particularly with labeling and packing logs.
  • Comfortable wearing a respirator (must be clean-shaven).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in GMP, food manufacturing, compounding, and material handling.
  • Skills in unloading, order picking, packaging, and production.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom environments and food manufacturing processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NORTHBROOK, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
