Job Description
This role works as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced metal service center to accurately fill and prepare customer orders for shipment. You will handle a variety of raw metal materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and red metals, supporting customers that range from small shops to large industrial operations. The position focuses on safely operating material handling equipment, ensuring precise measurement and verification of materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work area to support next-day order turnaround. The shift hours are from 3:00p - 11:00p

Work Environment
You will work in a metal distribution and processing facility that is fast-paced and highly team-oriented, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. The environment includes exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and metal products, requiring consistent awareness and adherence to safety procedures. The role involves frequent standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion while handling materials weighing approximately 50–75 lbs. You will use equipment such as overhead cranes, side loaders, metal saws, shears, laser machines, measuring tapes, and RF scanners as part of daily operations. The facility supports multiple shifts, including 2nd shift, with a pay increase when transitioning to 2nd or 3rd shift. Company-provided uniforms are supplied through a uniform service, and a boot voucher program supports appropriate safety footwear. The workplace includes separate locker rooms and breakrooms equipped with refrigerators, freezers, and microwaves, along with on-site water and Gatorade to help you stay hydrated throughout your shift.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
