Job Description

Join a growing prefabrication manufacturing team as an Assembler. This role is ideal for individuals with industrial manufacturing, construction, mechanical assembly, carpentry, electrical work, or other hands-on trade experience who enjoy working with tools, reading measurements, following blueprints, and building high-quality products in a team-oriented environment. You will contribute directly to the production of durable, well-crafted products while developing your mechanical skills and advancing your career.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble prefabricated components and products according to blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to perform mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Read and interpret tape measurements, blueprints, and layout drawings to ensure accurate assembly and alignment.
  • Perform general labor duties in a manufacturing environment, including lifting, positioning, and securing materials and components.
  • Work with materials such as concrete and other construction-related components as part of the assembly process.
  • Follow established production processes and quality standards to build high-quality products consistently.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily and weekly production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Demonstrate solid attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic to support reliable production schedules.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to expand skills and move into more skilled positions over time.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience in industrial manufacturing, construction, mechanical assembly, carpentry, electrical work, or other skilled trades.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools confidently and safely.
  • Capability to read and use a tape measure accurately for measurements and layout.
  • Basic blueprint or drawing reading skills to follow assembly instructions.
  • Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude for detailed assembly work.
  • Demonstrated solid attendance record and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 48 hours per week on an evening/night shift schedule.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to following safety protocols and wearing required PPE at all times.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in construction or industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly and production work.
  • Familiarity with concrete, general labor, and laborer helper tasks.
  • Experience in carpentry or related trades.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints for construction or manufacturing projects.
  • Comfort working with a variety of hand tools and power tools.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and move into more skilled positions over time.
  • Training is available for candidates with strong work ethic and hands-on experience, even if they are newer to manufacturing.

Work Environment

This position is based in a prefabrication manufacturing facility in the person, VA. The environment is industrial and hands-on, with active production work involving assembly of construction-related components. The facility is not climate-controlled, so there is no air conditioning; heat is provided during colder months. Employees work a minimum of 48 hours per week on an evening/night schedule, typically Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with Fridays often being shorter. Required personal protective equipment includes steel-toed boots, a hard hat, safety vest, and safety glasses. Workers provide their own steel-toed boots, while all other required PPE is supplied on the first day of orientation. The dress code emphasizes safety and practicality, with PPE worn at all times in production areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ruther Glen, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
