Fenner Precision Polymershas an exciting internship opportunity with theFenner New Product Textile Engineering Team at Manheim/Lititz, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for product/process/testing needs for the textile product category.
As part of the New Product Development Team, you will .
S/he will be responsible for collaborating with various departments to:
- Conduct lab testing on technical textiles according to product development needs
- 3D model new fixtures or product models to enhance product understanding
Develop proficiency in emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to support project work, data analysis, content creation, and operational efficiency under the guidance of team leaders
- Learn components and processes of rapier looms
- Technical documentation:
- Updating specs to new format
- Product validation – mechanical properties like tensile, tear, EPI, PPI, weight, etc.
- 3D modeling of weave patterns
- R&D projects
- Alternative fabrics – quartz, MWPE, etc. – applications, testing
Core Competencies Required
- Demonstrated ability to.
- 3D model in Solidworks
- Record and interpret measured properties of lab tests
- Proven skills in
- Mechanical engineering principles – stress, strain, coefficient of friction, etc.
- Statistical analysis of test results
- Working knowledge of
- Basic lab equipment and software – MTS, hot presses, Microsoft package, etc.
- Novel problem solving
Education and/or Relative Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of college in a related field.
