This role reviews system design, aligns test cases with system requirements, automates the detection of potential issues, and collaborates closely with internal engineering teams and external customers to ensure accurate ownership and timely problem-solving. The engineer also improves instrumentation, identifies common failure patterns, and supports continuous improvement of product development processes.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate issues found during VSYS4 and VSYS5 level testing and triage ownership to the correct team or dependency for effective problem resolution.
  • Review overall system design to understand how ADAS and related vehicle systems interact and to support accurate issue analysis.
  • Coordinate and help design test cases that clearly match and validate system requirements for VSYS4 and VSYS5 testing.
  • Develop or support automation solutions to identify potential issues during VSYS4 and VSYS5 testing, improving test efficiency and coverage.
  • Triage issues during vehicle preparation, summarize findings, and align on next steps with internal engineers and external customers.
  • Review and improve instrumentation used for VSYS4 and VSYS5 testing to ensure reliable data collection and fault detection.
  • Analyze test results to summarize common failure patterns and report potential process deficiencies during product development.
  • Review test data processing scripts to ensure data integrity, consistency, and effective analysis of vehicle and ADAS performance.
  • Use CAN tools and other diagnostic equipment to analyze serial data communication on the vehicle network and identify communication failures.
  • Explain how ADAS features work within the vehicle system to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, supporting clear understanding of issues and solutions.
  • Document issues, triage decisions, test results, and improvement recommendations in a clear and structured manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support debugging activities on embedded systems and ADAS-related software.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes, instrumentation, and product development workflows based on observed failure modes.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another automotive-related field.
  • Hands-on experience with CAN networks, including use of CAN tools to diagnose serial data communication and identify failures.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle components and ADAS systems, including understanding how ADAS features function within the overall vehicle system.
  • Scripting skills with MATLAB and Python for data analysis, automation, and test support.
  • Strong logical thinking and understanding of cause-and-effect relationships, with proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly explain how ADAS features work within the vehicle system to various stakeholders.
  • Good technical communication and presentation skills for summarizing issues, test results, and recommendations.
  • Ability to learn quickly and produce thorough, well-structured documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Familiarity with product development processes and associated responsibilities.
  • Prior experience with issue triage and debugging in automotive or embedded systems environments.
  • Knowledge of additional vehicle communication protocols, including Ethernet and LIN.
  • Experience reading and writing requirements and test cases.
  • Experience with issue logging systems such as Jira or similar tools.
  • Experience with Canoe or comparable CAN network simulation and analysis tools.
  • Experience with software debugging on embedded systems.
  • Working understanding of C++ and Simulink.
