About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on IT Project Technician to support the deployment, configuration, and installation of desktop and network infrastructure across client or company sites. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technician who is comfortable working independently or as part of a team in the field, follows procedures precisely, and communicates clearly through documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Image and configure Windows PCs for deployment

- Configure network equipment, including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points

- Configure and deploy servers for onsite or client environments

- Perform onsite physical installation of PCs, networking equipment, and network cabling

- Document all work performed accurately and thoroughly

- Follow written procedures, project plans, and work instructions

- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues onsite

- Rack and stack equipment in server rooms, data closets, and IDF/MDF locations

- Conduct pre-installation site surveys and readiness assessments

- Test and validate network connectivity post-installation (e.g., cable testers, ping/traceroute)

- Deploy and configure peripherals such as printers, scanners, and monitors

- Perform basic user data migration and profile setup on new machines

- Coordinate scheduling and task completion with project managers, vendors, and other technicians

- Communicate professionally with onsite staff, clients, and end users

- Provide basic end-user instruction on newly installed equipment

- Log and update tickets in the ticketing system

- Load, transport, and safely handle equipment and tools between job sites

- Adhere to company safety protocols and security requirements

- Complete timesheets, mileage, and expense reports as required

Preferred / Additional Qualifications

- Associate's degree or technical certification in IT, networking, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

- CompTIA A+, Network+, or CCNA certification (or working toward one)

- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP basics

- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, admin center basics)

- Basic operational knowledge of Windows Hyper-V (creating/managing virtual machines, basic VM troubleshooting)

- Experience with structured cabling installation and termination

- Basic knowledge of VoIP phone system setup

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for multi-site travel

- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and work in varied physical environments (climbing ladders, crawling under desks, working in server rooms)

- Strong customer service and communication skills

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following detailed instructions

- Availability for occasional after-hours or on-call project work
