Your Opportunity + Impact

A Residential Rental Property Inspector evaluates the structural integrity, overall condition, and regulatory compliance of residential rental properties. Responsibilities include identifying structural, electrical, plumbing, and other deficiencies that may impact the property’s safety. Inspectors check for code violations and verify compliance with local building codes. Their attention to detail and comprehensive knowledge of health and safety standards ensure that each property is thoroughly assessed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive property inspections for residential rental buildings and properties.
  • Identify and document potential safety hazards and code violations.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports describing the condition of the property.
  • Verify that properties comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Inspect plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and structural components for safety.
  • Work closely with property owners, property managers, tenants, and contractors.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to perform inspections.
  • Provide expert advice on building safety and maintenance.

Education and Experience

  • Five (5) years of experience in Property Inspection is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certification in Property Inspection from an accredited body.
  • A valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania driver’s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications

To perform this role effectively, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill all essential duties and responsibilities.   • Certification in Property Inspection from an accredited body.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and inspection methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to identify and diagnose deficiencies in building systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft OfficeTM software tools.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Vehicle: Due to the need for frequent travel to project sites, client meetings, and other off-site engagements, a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing job duties, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
  • TRAVEL: The employee will be required to travel to meet clients, contractors, tenants, or property owners. Travel frequency and duration will depend on the property's requirements and locations.
