Job Description
We are looking for an Endpoint Systems Engineer to support and improve endpoint operations for a large organization in Ankeny, Iowa. This Long-term Contract position focuses on building scalable automation, strengthening endpoint reliability, and helping teams work more efficiently through thoughtful engineering solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong PowerShell expertise, sound systems analysis skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and with cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities:
• Design and enhance endpoint automation workflows that improve operational efficiency and support evolving business needs at scale.
• Create, test, and deploy PowerShell, batch, and other scripting solutions to install, configure, and update internal and third-party applications.
• Establish and maintain validation processes to confirm devices are correctly configured during new deployments and hardware replacements.
• Develop practical redundancy approaches that improve resilience and reduce disruption across endpoint services.
• Contribute to the planning and improvement of technical support systems that enable stable day-to-day operations.
• Evaluate and certify software used in store environments, including updates and modifications from external vendors.
• Build tools, scripts, and routines that minimize manual effort and streamline recurring administrative tasks.
• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to identify endpoint issues, assess root causes, and implement effective solutions.• Strong hands-on experience with PowerShell, including scripting for automation, software deployment, and endpoint management.
• Background in endpoint engineering, systems administration, or systems engineering within a Windows-based environment.
• Proficiency with automation scripting, including PowerShell, Windows PowerShell, batch scripting, and Bash.
• Experience supporting software upgrades, application packaging, and deployment processes across distributed endpoints.
• Familiarity with Intune and modern endpoint management practices.
• Ability to analyze system behavior logically and develop practical, scalable solutions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate productively across teams.
• Comfortable working independently while also building strong working relationships in a complex environment.
