Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a multi-entity organization based in Minnesota. This role blends strategic financial leadership with active oversight of daily accounting activities, making it ideal for someone who can strengthen structure, improve processes, and guide teams across a multi-location environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in reporting accuracy, compliance, internal controls, and operational efficiency while supporting continued business growth.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the full accounting function across multiple entities and locations, ensuring consistent execution of financial processes and reporting standards.
• Produce accurate monthly and periodic financial statements, including consolidated reporting across varied platforms and business units.
• Establish, refine, and enforce accounting policies and procedures that support compliance, operational discipline, and scalability.
• Monitor cash flow activity and oversee ownership distributions to help maintain sound financial management practices.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts by partnering with stakeholders to develop reliable financial plans and performance projections.
• Manage accounts payable activities, including approval workflows, payment execution, and process oversight for timely vendor settlement.
• Supervise accounts receivable operations such as invoicing, cash posting, and collection efforts to support healthy working capital.
• Coordinate annual audit activities and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors throughout the audit cycle.
• Strengthen internal control practices to protect company assets, improve accuracy, and reduce operational risk.
• Support system optimization and finance process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency across the organization.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in accounting or finance, including responsibility for complex accounting operations.
• Demonstrated success managing accounting teams within multi-entity, multi-location, or otherwise complex business environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance requirements, internal controls, and core accounting operations.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working with ERP platforms and system implementations; familiarity with Acumatica or Sage is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information professionally.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support teams and business operations across locations.
