About This RoleWe are looking for someone who is available daily from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to work as assistant teacher and center cook. You will float between our preschool classrooms offering support where needed until about 11:00 a.m.. From 11:00-1:00 you will prepare and clean up lunch for about 40 students and staff. We have the menu and recipes and can train the right person in preparation and cleanup procedures.
What You'll Do- Clean and inspect kitchen equipment, appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
- Apportion and serve food to students.
- Cook foodstuffs according to menus, or numbers of portions to be served.
- Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment.
- Serve food or beverages.
- Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
- Cook foods.
- Cut cooked or raw foods.
- Prepare foods for cooking or serving.
- Clean tableware
Requirements- Complete and document at least 4 hours of training in kitchen sanitation, food handling, and nutrition initally, and one hour of training in kitchen sanitation, food handling, and nutrition annually thereafter. (as required by WI DCF)
- able to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m.
