Ricky Pasquet with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing company in Reno, Nevada. This role supports core accounting operations by helping ensure financial records are accurate, reconciliations are completed on time, and reporting deadlines are met. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across general ledger activity, transactional accounting, and month-end processes in a multi-entity environment.
Responsibilities:
• Support the monthly close cycle by preparing financial data, assisting with reporting deliverables, and helping maintain accurate period-end results.
• Record recurring, standard, and adjustment-based journal entries while ensuring supporting documentation is complete and properly organized.
• Perform reconciliations across bank accounts, credit card activity, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions to identify and resolve variances.
• Track and update schedules related to prepaid expenses, fixed asset depreciation, accruals, and other account support items.
• Coordinate payment processing, invoice review, and transaction documentation for vendors and other accounting activities tied to disbursements.
• Contribute to customer invoicing, accounts receivable follow-up, and reconciliation of house accounts and related balances.
• Prepare payroll-related accounting entries, assist with sales tax reconciliations and filings, and respond to audit requests, discrepancy research, and special projects as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close activities.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel in an accounting setting; familiarity with QuickBooks or NetSuite is preferred.
• Understanding of sales tax, corporate tax concepts, and financial record accuracy requirements.
• Strong organizational skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
