Senior Packaging Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials with knowledge of equipment interrelationships.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create packaging solutions for new and established projects.
• Partner with Product Development on packaging/product requirements including functionality, protection, and shelf life.
• Maintain and update packaging specifications.
• Create go-to-market solutions that deliver products efficiently across multiple distribution platforms.
• Stay current with packaging technologies in internal plants, co-packers, and industry developments; incorporate new technologies to optimize cost and efficiency.
• Develop project timelines with multiple cross-functional touchpoints.
• Manage platform and project budgets, including spend tracking.
• Maintain open communication and build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Follow technical stage-gate processes, create package development plans, and manage project budgets.
• Travel domestically 15–25% to support packaging initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience
• Bachelor of Science in Packaging Science
• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering
