CORG Management Group is looking for a qualified Senior Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician to work in the Columbia, SC area at Moncrief Army Health Clinic (MAHC) | Fort Jackson, South Carolina
Position Overview
CORG Management Group is seeking an experienced & skilled Sr. (BAS) Technician to support facilities operations at (MAHC) located on Fort Jackson, South Carolina. This position is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, and optimization of building automation and control systems that support a mission-critical healthcare environment. To oversee BAS operations across Moncrief Army Health Clinic and its outlying facilities, ensuring reliable environmental control and system performance in clinical, administrative, and critical care areas.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of HVAC, utility, steam, chilled water, and medical gas systems that directly support patient care and clinic operations.

Building Automation & Controls Responsibilities

• Serveas the facility's controls subject matter expert, responsible for interpreting HVAC and mechanical system drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Advanced knowledge of building automation systems and the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, test, and optimize BAS, steam, sterilization, boiler plant, and related utility systems.
• Manage and monitor Medical Gas (MEDGAS) systems serving critical patient care areas while supporting energy management initiatives that improve operational efficiency and reduce utility costs.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC infrastructure, including water-cooled chillers, boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, and associated control systems.
• Knowledgeable in the controls, operation, and troubleshooting of Cleaver-Brooks hospital boiler systems and Trane chiller systems, with the ability to diagnose and resolve control-related issues to ensure prompt recovery and restoration of service when equipment is disabled, malfunctioning, or operating outside established parameters.
  
  

Controls Programming & System Integration

• Troubleshoot, install, repair, integrate, and commission TAC Americas (Andover Controls) and Siemens Building Technologies (SBT) control systems, ranging from individual controllers to facility-wide automation networks.
• Provide programming support and minor software modifications using Schneider Electric StruxureWare, maintaining system documentation, diagnosing control system issues, analyzing trends and alarms, and implementing corrective actions to ensure the reliable and continuous operation of critical facility systems.

Leadership, Training, & Project Support

• The Senior BAS Technician will provide technical leadership, develop junior staff, and support facility projects through the following responsibilities:
• Training and mentorship: Deliver onsite training and share best practices for building automation, controls troubleshooting, and system maintenance.
• Technical guidance: Recommend replacement parts and system upgrades, provide technical direction, and prepare project cost estimates.
• Project support: Coordinate with government and third-party contractors during renovation and construction projects.
• System integration and commissioning: Support integration, testing, startup, and commissioning activities to confirm that control systems meet project requirements and industry standards.

Required Qualifications

• Three years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Certification in TAC Americas or Siemens Building Technologies (SBT) control systems is preferred.
• Candidates who do not currently hold the required certification will be given a reasonable period after hire to obtain it.
• Strong working knowledge of pneumatic controls and their integration with Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of building automation systems, controls engineering principles, HVAC operations, energy management platforms, and Human Machine Interface (HMI) integration.
• Experience supporting complex commercial HVAC systems, including water-cooled chillers, boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, steam systems, and associated BAS/DDC networks.
• Ability to understand and comply with Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) requirements, NFPA standards, healthcare facility safety regulations, and patient-care operational protocols.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience supporting Department of Defense healthcare facilities, military treatment facilities, Veterans Affairs hospitals, or other mission-critical healthcare settings will be preferred. Experience with Schneider Electric StructureWare, controls commissioning, system integration, and healthcare facility infrastructure is also highly desirable.

Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and perform work in mechanical rooms, utility plants, rooftops, crawl spaces, and occupied healthcare facilities. The position may require climbing ladders, working around operating equipment, and responding to facility emergencies involving critical infrastructure systems.
