Job Description
This posting is a general application for upcoming engineering graduates in December 2026/May 2027. Rather than applying to a specific discipline, candidates will be reviewed and considered for opportunities that best match their engineering degree, skills, and interests across Valdes Architecture & Engineering. Please note that this opportunity is intended for new graduates in traditional engineering disciplines and does not include Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other software-focused degree programs.
Responsibilities
  • Work under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers to develop technical skills and industry knowledge
  • Assist with engineering design, calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation for a variety of projects
  • Support the development and review of engineering deliverables while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements
  • Perform engineering analyses, evaluations, and calculations with mentorship and oversight as needed
  • Participate in field visits to verify existing conditions, collect data, and support project design efforts
  • Learn and apply industry standards, client specifications, and company procedures to engineering projects
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project planning, coordination, and successful execution
  • Gain proficiency in engineering software, design tools, and project documentation processes
  • Assist with equipment selection, system layouts, and technical recommendations based on project needs
  • Develop an understanding of project phases, engineering workflows, and best practices through hands-on experience
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and incorporate feedback to improve technical deliverables
  • Continue professional growth through mentorship, training, and exposure to diverse engineering disciplines and industries
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering graduating in December 2026/May 2027
  • 0+ years of experience working as an Engineer, engineering internships highly preferred
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license preferred and on track to obtaining a Professional License (PE) preferred
  • Must be well organized and able to prioritize work
  • Ability to set and track goals
  • Ability to multi-task and work on more than one project at a time
  • Able to commit to and meet project deadlines, and driven to provide outstanding service to both external and internal customers
  • Willing to take ownership of work through project completion
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
