Shape every shift into quality output
Step onto the night shift where ceramic tile takes form. As a Ceramic Press Operations Technician, you’ll arrive to a clean, organized press line, review production targets, and move straight into machine checks and setup. Through the night, you’ll keep tile presses running smoothlydialing in parameters, swapping dies and frames for changeovers, inspecting green tile, documenting performance, and coordinating with maintenance when something needs attention.
A night on the line might look like this:
- Start with a quick walk-around, verifying safety devices, PPE, and lockout/tagout clearances before setup.
- Complete press setup activities, including die and frame changes and product changeovers, following standard work.
- Run presses to plan while continuously monitoring temperatures, pressures, fill, and cycle consistency.
- Inspect green tile at defined intervals, compare to specs, and tweak press settings to correct variation.
- Troubleshoot alarms and mechanical issues to reduce downtime; escalate to maintenance when needed.
- Handle and move green tile and materials safely throughout the shift.
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs within role scope; document work performed.
- Accurately record production counts, downtime reasons, maintenance actions, and quality checks.
- Keep the area clean and organized, and communicate status, concerns, and improvements to the team.
What you’ll bring
- 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, machine operation, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Hands-on skill with automated equipmentcomfortable diagnosing straightforward mechanical issues.
- Detail orientation and a strong commitment to quality and safe work practices, including OSHA and LOTO.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move production materials as required.
- Basic computer proficiency for production and maintenance recordkeeping.
- Self-directed decision-making in a fast-paced production environment.
Schedule
This role is assigned to the night shift on a 3.5-days-per-week schedule, with overtime as needed.
Other duties may be assigned to support production efficiency, product quality, equipment reliability, and workplace safety.
