Chipton-Ross is seeking experienced Painter/Blasters to support a leading shipbuilding operation in Pascagoula, Mississippi. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled trades professionals who take pride in quality workmanship and want to contribute to the construction and maintenance of world-class marine vessels.

What You'll Do

As a Painter/Blaster, you will play a critical role in protecting and preserving ship structures through proper surface preparation and coating application.

Responsibilities

  • Perform abrasive blasting operations using a variety of blasting equipment and methods.
  • Prepare surfaces for coating applications in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Apply marine and industrial coatings to required quality and thickness standards.
  • Identify and correct blasting and painting deficiencies.
  • Verify proper blast profiles, coating thickness, and surface conditions.
  • Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Connect and utilize air lines, blasting hoses, spray equipment, and related systems.
  • Perform horizontal, vertical, and side-to-side spray applications.
  • Follow technical specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of recent Painter/Blaster experience in shipbuilding, marine, industrial, or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to perform all blasting functions and applications independently.
  • Experience applying marine or industrial coatings to specification requirements.
  • Knowledge of blast profiles, coating thickness (mil) requirements, and surface preparation standards.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper use of blasting equipment and spray systems.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
