This role focuses on general production and mechanical assembly work in a manufacturing environment, supporting a new project that involves building and assembling door frames. You will use hand and power tools to assemble products, prepare shipments, and contribute to smooth warehouse operations while working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the new doors project by building and assembling frames using hand and power tools.
  • Perform mechanical assembly tasks in a manufacturing setting, following work instructions and quality standards.
  • Use hand tools, drills, and nail guns safely and efficiently to complete assembly work.
  • Operate hand power tools to cut, fasten, and secure components as required.
  • Carry out medium to heavy lifting, including repetitively lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Assemble, palletize, and prepare shipments for loading and transport.
  • Pull, pack, and load materials and finished products for shipping and receiving.
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks while meeting production goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all assembly and packing activities.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of tools and materials.
  • Stand and work on concrete floors for extended periods while performing assembly and production duties.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, including tape measures, with accurate measurement skills.
  • Experience using power drills and other hand power tools in a production or assembly setting.
  • Ability to safely operate a nail gun and other basic power tools.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively and perform medium to heavy lifting throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet production targets.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate tasks and share information effectively.
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure accurate assembly, packing, and palletizing of products.
  • Comfort standing on concrete floors for the full shift while performing assembly and warehouse tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • General labor experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, and mechanical components.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly processes and production workflows.
  • Familiarity with power tools, including drills and nail guns, and safe operating practices.
  • Ability to adapt to working in different areas of the facility, such as manufacturing, assembly, shipping/receiving, or testing.
  • Motivated, long-term mindset with a desire to contribute, grow, and go above and beyond in the role.

Work Environment

This position is based in a large, clean warehouse facility that is divided into manufacturing, shipping and receiving, assembly, and testing areas. You may work in any of these areas depending on production needs. The environment is not temperature controlled, so it is cooler in the winter and hotter in the summer. The facility contains large signs and parts in various stages of development and ready-for-shipment status. The standard shift runs from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some days extending to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday, plus Saturdays through the end of the year. You will receive a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two paid 10-minute breaks during the shift. The dress code is casual, with appropriate jeans and t-shirt, and requires steel-toed boots. Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection are provided. You will spend most of the day standing on concrete floors while performing assembly and production tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
