Staff Engineer

MLR ENGINEERING,LLC is seeking a Staff Engineer to help drive engineering excellence and deliver high-quality solutions for complex technical challenges.

The Staff Engineer will provide technical leadership across engineering projects, translating requirements into reliable designs and guiding execution from concept through implementation. This role partners with cross-functional teams to improve system performance, reduce risk, and ensure deliverables meet technical and quality standards.

In addition to hands-on engineering, the Staff Engineer will mentor team members, influence technical decisions, and contribute to continuous improvement in engineering practices and standards.

• Lead technical design and development efforts, ensuring requirements are met through sound engineering judgment.

• Provide expert review of engineering work, including documentation, calculations, and technical specifications.

• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues, manage tradeoffs, and maintain project momentum.

• Mentor engineers and support knowledge sharing to strengthen team capability and consistency.

• Contribute to process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and reliability of engineering outputs.

• Strong engineering fundamentals with experience delivering technical solutions in a professional engineering environment.

• Demonstrated ability to interpret requirements and convert them into practical engineering designs.

• Experience working cross-functionally to troubleshoot issues and drive solutions to completion.

• Solid communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.

• Commitment to quality, safety, and disciplined engineering practices throughout the project lifecycle.

• Experience in technical leadership roles, such as owning design direction or mentoring team members.

• Track record of improving product or system performance through root-cause analysis and engineering optimization.

• Familiarity with industry standards and quality-focused development methods.

• Experience managing engineering deliverables across multiple concurrent priorities.

• Demonstrated ability to balance design rigor with schedule and execution constraints in onsite environments.
