Engineering Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

A client in the aerospace and defense industry is seeking to bring on 3-6 Engineering Technicians to their team local to Carlsbad, CA. The Engineering Technician supports the design, development, testing, and production of optical and electro-optical systems by assisting with the assembly, alignment, integration, inspection, and troubleshooting of precision optical hardware. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, this role conducts laboratory testing, operates optical test equipment, collects and documents performance data, and ensures compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. The ideal candidate has experience working with optical, electro-optical, or precision mechanical systems, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to handle delicate components in laboratory, manufacturing, or cleanroom environments. An associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in optics, photonics, engineering technology, physics, or a related field is preferred. Electrical and electronics experience is a plus.
