Job Title: Robotics Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting robots in a industrial automotive environment. You will work with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, supporting production by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime. The position requires a seasoned multi-craft maintenance professional who can diagnose complex issues, work with industrial control systems, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on large-tonnage progressive and transfer stamping presses to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Diagnose and repair issues in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, pumps, and related components.
• Conduct electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on industrial equipment to identify root causes of failures and implement effective solutions.
• Support, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs), including interpreting ladder logic and adjusting parameters as needed.
• Use electrical and mechanical schematics to systematically diagnose equipment problems and perform corrective actions.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on presses and associated equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, controls, sensors, and power distribution components.
• Work with AP&T transfer systems and Fanuc robots when present, including assisting with re-teaching and rehoming touch points to restore proper operation.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support maintenance planning and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
• Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working in a heavy industrial automotive environment.
• Support multiple shifts by maintaining communication on equipment status and ongoing maintenance issues.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of six (6) years of industrial multi-craft maintenance technician experience.
• Proven experience working with large-tonnage progressive and transfer stamping presses.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment.
• Experience working with PLCs, including PLC troubleshooting.
• Experience working with variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex industrial equipment under time-sensitive conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a heavy industrial setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with AP&T transfer systems is a significant plus.
• Fanuc robotics experience, including re-teaching and rehoming touch points, is highly desirable.
• Prior experience with large stamping operations in a true automotive heavy industrial environment.
• Comfort working with progressive and transfer stamping technologies.
• Willingness to continuously learn new technologies and systems used in automotive manufacturing.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production and engineering.
• Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, TN.

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
