Job Title: Project Engineer – Offsite ManufacturingJob Description

This Project Engineer role supports an offsite manufacturing team focused on large, complex construction projects, including data centers. You will develop and manage project plans, schedules, and scopes of work in a fast-paced environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and deliver high-quality results. The position offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact within an established, diverse team while contributing to continuous improvement in construction methods and workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and scopes of work for offsite manufacturing and construction projects.
  • Manage procurement and purchasing activities, ensuring accurate and timely ordering of materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate supply chain activities, including material logistics and delivery schedules, to support project timelines.
  • Track project financials and support budget adherence, including cost tracking, estimating, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation, processing, and tracking of RFIs and submittals for construction projects.
  • Use scheduling tools such as P6 or MS Project to track and update project schedules and milestones.
  • Interpret and review shop drawings, construction drawings, and other technical documents to support construction sequencing and field activities.
  • Support project managers and field teams by providing technical documentation, reports, and coordination support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and construction stakeholders, to streamline workflows and improve project efficiency.
  • Participate in change management processes, including reviewing and supporting the approval of change orders.
  • Assist with coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with a focus on HVAC systems and mechanical construction.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying coordination challenges and proposing practical solutions.
  • Communicate proactively with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project requirements and timelines.
  • Support large data center and other complex projects by ensuring that offsite manufacturing activities align with onsite construction needs.
  • Maintain accurate project records, logs, and documentation to support reporting, compliance, and project closeout.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and field experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in construction or manufacturing environments.
  • Two or more years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction with a general contractor or mechanical contractor.
  • Proficiency in Navisworks for model review and coordination.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam for document review, markup, and collaboration.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for tracking budgets, costs, and project data.
  • Experience using scheduling tools such as P6 or MS Project for project planning and schedule tracking.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, including steel work, heavy equipment, and general construction sequencing.
  • Experience with purchasing coordination and material logistics in a construction or manufacturing context.
  • Ability to read and understand project drawings and shop drawings.
  • Experience processing RFIs and submittals on construction projects.
  • Familiarity with financial oversight on projects, including budgeting, estimating, approving change orders, and cost tracking.
  • Experience with mechanical construction, including HVAC systems and MEP coordination.
  • Ability to support project coordination across mechanical and electrical scopes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, field teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with a major mechanical subcontractor, primarily focused on HVAC systems, is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated accountability and teachability, with a track record of taking ownership, communicating proactively, and learning quickly.
  • Solid technical foundation in construction principles, tools, and methodologies.
  • Process-oriented mindset with the ability to think in systems, dependencies, and workflows.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Focus on efficiency, valuing progress and clarity over perfectionism.
  • Curiosity and innovation, with a passion for improving construction methods and processes.
  • Interest in supporting large data center and other complex mechanical projects.

Work Environment

This role is based in an office environment in Spokane that supports offsite manufacturing operations and large-scale construction projects, including data centers. You will work closely with a diverse, collaborative team of project engineers, project managers, and field personnel. The position typically follows a standard full-time schedule, with approximately 40 hours per week. Team members use modern construction technologies and tools such as Navisworks, Bluebeam, P6 or MS Project, and Microsoft Excel to manage schedules, models, and project documentation. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, efficiency, and innovation in mechanical and offsite construction. While on contract, employees accrue paid time off and observe a standard set of six holidays, contributing to a balanced and supportive work setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
