Job Summary: Step into a leadership role where your expertise keeps a major fleet running at peak performance. You'll take ownership of equipment uptime across our Fort Wayne operation mentoring technicians & overseeing DOT compliance. Job Responsibilities:
Conduct monthly DOT inspections across the full equipment fleet
Rebuild and service Cummins engines
Diagnose and repair Aftertreatment systems
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on Class 8 equipment
Perform general repairs on all components of Class 8 trucks and trailers
Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems
Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation
Mentor and develop junior technicians on the shop floor
Plan and manage daily workflow and job assignments
Source and retrieve parts for the team
Operate a forklift and maintain shop cleanliness standards
Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
Recommend improvements to shop processes and systems
Participate in team meetings and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
5+ years in a lead technician or supervisory role
At least 5-10 years of hands-on diesel experience with strong DOT compliance knowledge
Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and regulations
Comfortable working in all weather conditions
Able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Skilled at reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced welding and fabrication capabilities
Highly motivated with a drive to lead by example
