Job Title: 2ND SHIFT hydromat Machine Operator - START ASAP

Job Description

This role involves setting up, operating, and running Hydromat machines in a fast-paced, climate-controlled machining environment. You will perform machine setups and changeovers, make tooling adjustments, run production, and carry out quality inspections to ensure parts meet specifications. The position also includes performing basic preventative maintenance and using standard measuring tools to verify part compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Set up Hydromat machines, including performing tooling adjustments and changeovers according to production requirements.
  • Operate and run Hydromat machines safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Run and operate various production or manual machines as needed, such as punch presses or brake presses.
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections of parts to ensure they meet specifications and print requirements.
  • Check compliance to specifications or blueprints using basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, scales, and indicators.
  • Troubleshoot basic machine issues and make appropriate adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines, including inspecting and replenishing fluid levels as needed.
  • Inspect and replace machine filters on a regular schedule or as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards.
  • Follow all established work instructions, safety procedures, and quality guidelines throughout the production process.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience running and operating various production or manual machines and performing quality checks on parts.
  • Ability to perform machine setup, changeovers, and adjustments on production equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and part prints accurately.
  • Proficiency in using and accurately reading micrometers, calipers, scales, and indicators.
  • Experience with basic machine operation and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong focus on quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently once trained.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferred: Minimum 1 year of experience performing setup, changeovers, and adjustments on machines such as Hydromat machines, punch presses, brake presses, or similar equipment.
  • Preferred: Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience running and operating Hydromat machines.
  • Experience with machining processes and machine shop operations.
  • Experience in machine setup, machine operation, and basic machining practices.
  • Familiarity with CNC or punch press equipment is a plus.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled, air-conditioned machine shop equipped with approximately 50 Hydromat machines. The work is fast-paced and production-focused. There is one opening on second shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., and four openings on first shift, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. New hires may need to train on first shift for 1 to 3 weeks before moving to their regular shift. The environment is a modern machining facility with standard shop-floor conditions and equipment, emphasizing safety, organization, and efficient workflow.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of O Fallon, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
