Join an innovative engineering organization developing complex robotic platforms for highly regulated, safety-critical applications. This senior-level individual contributor will lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced motion-control and fault-detection algorithms that enable sophisticated robotic systems. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, this person will help drive solutions from concept and prototype through testing, validation, and product release while influencing system architecture, performance, and safety.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on robotics and controls expert who thrives in technically challenging environments and can independently solve complex problems involving electromechanical systems, real-time software, and advanced control theory. This role offers the opportunity to work on next-generation robotic technology with significant technical ownership and visibility.
Must-Have Qualifications- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field
- Extensive experience developing robotic, control systems, or servo control solutions in a regulated or safety-critical environment
- Deep expertise implementing, tuning, and troubleshooting modern servo control systems
- Strong background in robot modeling and system identification
- Advanced real-time control algorithm development using C/C++
- Experience with Python and/or MATLAB/Simulink for simulation, analysis, and testing
- Proven ability to develop robust, high-performance algorithms in multithreaded or multiprocessor environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across hardware, software, and systems engineering teams
- Industry experience within medical device, aerospace, automotive, robotics, or another highly regulated engineering environment
Preferred- Advanced robotic control techniques such as impedance control or flexible manipulator control
- Embedded Linux or QNX experience
- Full product lifecycle experience including verification, validation, and manufacturing transfer
- Experience with Git, SVN, CMake, or GNU Make systems
