Communications Consultant

Evans is hiring a Senior Communications Consultant to support a large-scale FAA air traffic modernization program. This role produces the executive and Administrator-level communications for an effort consolidating air traffic operational systems onto modern cloud infrastructure. We are seeking someone who can translate complex technical activity into clear material for senior government leaders and who can deliver a finished product on a short turn.

Location Details: This role is mostly remote with occasional on-site requirements at the FAA Headquarters in Washington D.C.

• Develop executive and Administrator-level briefings, talking points, and status materials for a program with both government and industry participants.
• Own the program narrative for a major system demonstration, including the storyline, briefing materials, and supporting visuals.
• Prepare and maintain the facilitation guide for the recurring weekly leadership alignment meeting.
• Produce the minutes for the weekly leadership alignment meeting, covering confirmed decisions, open questions, and forward priorities.
• Translate technical activity from engineering and industry teams into plain language for non-technical executive audiences.
• Manage the distribution cadence for program artifacts so participating organizations receive current material on a predictable schedule.
• Develop and refine communication products, templates, and visual and text-based materials in electronic and printed media.
• Draft memos, correspondence, and written products for internal and external requests.
• Serve as lead reviewer and editor of program content before it reaches senior leadership.
• Support planning and agenda development for leadership sessions and program governance meetings.
• Coordinate with government and industry participants to gather input for communication products.
• Maintain a library of reusable communication products and program artifacts.

• A Bachelor’s Degree plus at least 10 years of experience is required. A Master’s Degree plus 7 years of experience may substitute.
• Proven experience developing executive-level communications products in a government program environment.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical language into plain language and clear visuals.
• Strong formal writing and editing skills across briefings, talking points, white papers, and status reports.
• Ability to produce finished material on short notice, including a product ready to share by the close of a meeting.
• Some technical fluency is required. Prior support to infrastructure, systems, or IT modernization programs is preferred.
• Prior FAA experience is desired.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while supporting several concurrent activities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams. Familiarity with Confluence is a nice to have.
• Ability to obtain and maintain FAA public trust suitability.

Compensation

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Evans's total compensation package for employees.
