Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Irvine, CA

Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students as a contract Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). Two immediate positions are open, offering a dynamic opportunity to work with diverse caseloads in an educational setting located near Irvine, CA. These roles provide full-time hours (7 hours daily, 35 hours weekly) with an anticipated adjustment to 5.75 hours per day (28.75 hours weekly) in the coming weeks as staffing evolves. There is also the possibility of increased hours (up to 30 per week) depending on program developments.

Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and systems is essential, as a portion of your caseload will involve supporting students who benefit from these technologies. You'll collaborate closely with SLPs, participating in a supportive and resourceful environment committed to helping every student thrive.

Desired qualifications and background:

• Current licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in California
• Recent experience supporting speech therapy in an elementary school environment
• Demonstrated familiarity with AAC systems, or a strong comfort level working with students who use AAC
• Strong communication, organization, and time management abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising SLPs, teachers, and families
• Professional, positive approach with a genuine passion for student development

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech and language support services to elementary students as directed by supervising SLPs
• Implement therapy activities designed to meet individual student goals, including those with AAC needs
• Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with school policies
• Collaborate on IEP teams and communicate student updates as part of a multidisciplinary team
