Job Title: Group LeaderJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Group Leader to oversee production operations as a Production Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring production cost schedules are met while maintaining quality standards. You will comply with labor agreements and implement corporate policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Meet production cost schedules and maintain quality requirements.
  • Comply with Local and National Labor agreements.
  • Implement divisional and corporate policies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and good housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain frequent contact with individuals outside the work group.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate employees.
  • Keep management informed of developments as they occur.
  • Maintain corporate management control systems.
  • Maintain department records.
  • Effectively use personnel, material, and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives.
  • Support the plant in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost goals.
  • Be willing to work any assigned shift, including daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required.
  • Support and implement the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 10 years of automotive experience.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities for effective supervision of employees.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in basic math.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of the basic technology of the assigned area.
  • High level of analytical ability for complex problem-solving.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and motivate employees.
  • Experience working in a represented environment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to ensure a safe industrial work environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of experience in general assembly, UAW, manufacturing, and supervision.
  • 3-5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing and safety.
  • 3-5 years of experience leading people.
  • 1 year of experience with Kronos.

Work Environment

The work environment operates on a 3-shift schedule with the following hours: 1st shift from 6 am to 3:30 pm, 2nd shift from 3 pm to 11:30 pm, and 3rd shift from 11 pm to 7:30 am. The facility maintains a focus on safety and quality in every aspect of operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of LANSING, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
