Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based care in the emergency department, including triage, initial assessment, and stabilization.
- Continuously monitor patients, interpret vital signs and telemetry, document findings, and escalate changes promptly.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, injections, and treatments as ordered; manage lines and specimen collection.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing colleagues, and ancillary staff to coordinate care, disposition, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record; uphold patient safety, privacy, and infection control standards.
- Respond to critical events and participate in resuscitation efforts as needed.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia.
- RN degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Certification: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS current.
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience.
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts on a 12x3 schedule in a fast-paced ED environment.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work major and minor holidays as required.
