Director of Logistics Technology

SimPL is seeking a Director of Logistics Technology to lead the strategy and execution of our logistics technology environment. This hands-on leadership role will oversee our transportation management systems, customer implementations and integrations, technology roadmap, data and business intelligence, AI and automation, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and system reliability.

The Director will work closely with executive and operational leadership while serving as the technical connection among customers, Sales, Operations, technology partners, and internal resources. The ideal candidate understands transportation and supply chain operations and can translate business and customer needs into secure, scalable, and practical technology solutions.

• Develop and execute SimPL's technology strategy and maintain a multi-year roadmap aligned with customer needs, operational priorities, growth, and financial objectives.

• Oversee the technology budget and evaluate when solutions should be developed internally, purchased, or delivered through external technology partners.

• Lead the strategy, performance, and continued development of SimPL's transportation management technology, including Revenova (TMS), Salesforce, integrations, visibility platforms, reporting tools, and supporting applications.

• Lead technology implementations for new managed transportation customers while balancing scalable standards with appropriate customer-specific requirements.

• Partner directly with customers, Sales, and Operations to understand business requirements, design future-state workflows, and develop implementation plans.

• Oversee customer and carrier integrations using APIs, EDI, SFTP, middleware, and other appropriate technologies.

• Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and technology-enabled workflows to improve productivity, service, margin, scalability, and decision-making.

• Establish effective governance for AI use cases, technology projects, system changes, testing, deployment, documentation, and ROI measurement.

• Guide the development of dashboards, reporting, analytics, and automated decision-support tools that improve access to operational and financial data.

• Establish standards for system reliability, monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

• Lead SimPL's cybersecurity and technology risk-management strategy, including access controls, vendor practices, monitoring, and incident-response procedures.

• Evaluate and manage technology vendors, integration partners, developers, and other internal or external resources.

• Work with business teams to identify manual, duplicative, or error-prone processes and design scalable, automation-first solutions.

• A clear technology architecture and roadmap that supports SimPL's growth.

• A stable, scalable, and increasingly standardized transportation management environment.

• Faster, more predictable customer implementations and integrations.

• Reliable critical systems supported by effective monitoring, documentation, change management, and incident-response processes.

• Significant technology leadership experience within transportation, logistics, supply chain, managed transportation, a 3PL, or a related environment.

• Experience designing and implementing transportation or supply chain technology solutions, with a strong understanding of TMS workflows.

• Experience leading customer implementations and complex system integrations.

• Working knowledge of APIs, EDI, SFTP, middleware, and other business-to-business integration technologies.

• Experience developing technology roadmaps, managing budgets, and prioritizing investments based on business value.

• Experience with business-process improvement, automation, project management, and organizational change.

• Experience leading internal developers, external vendors, offshore resources, or third-party technology teams.

• Familiarity with business intelligence, analytics, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and technology risk management.

• The ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, customers, sales teams, operational leaders, and technical resources.

• A practical, hands-on leadership style with the ability to translate complex business needs into scalable solutions.

Experience with Salesforce, Revenova TMS, Power BI, cloud application environments, SQL, data architecture, integration and monitoring platforms, workflow automation, or low-code/no-code tools is a strong plus. Experience with AI-enabled automation and AI-assisted development tools is also highly valued. PMP certification is a plus but is not required.
